Abdul Hai Shaheen Buses Companywas established in 1960 in the heart of Hebron city, mount lofty on the Palestine hills, at a distance about 60 kilometers away to the south Jerusalem.
At that timethe founder, Abdul Hai Shaheen, was a youthful and a pioneering businessman who took the initiative to invest in the sector of transportation, this self-made man was armed with strong will and determination, and of great love towards his homeland and its people, believing that his hard work will pays off and that the road towards success starts with one step. He modestly started his company with one bus working at the interiorroutes at the city Hebron; the company developed day after day extending its network to reach the Arabic countries, as another bus took new line between Hebron, Jordan, and Kuwait.
By the year 1967, the number of buses operating at the company has reached five buses, with modern specifications matching that period in respect of quality, luxury and style, as all buses were of Mercedes type, the best German brand for vehicles.
Following June War in 1967 and the consequent closure of crossings boarders leading to the Arab world, the company continued its work for the interior lines of Hebron and Allenby Bridge "Al-Karama Bridge" as well as for the Green Line "Israel",by the end of eighties the fleet reached 30 modern buses.
In 1990 , and due to the Israel's decision which prohibited Palestinian transportation methods from entering into Israel, as a result of the Gulf War and its negative impact on the whole region, transportation and tours inside is Israel were ceased as a consequence to the Israeli banning decision, the closures of boarders against Palestinians, and the conditions which required the issuance of private permits that restricted freedom of movement for the Palestinian buses at the Israeli lines.
During this period, the company witnesses a quantum leap at all the different administrative and service levels, and had mainly focus on Allenby Bridge “Al-Karama Crossing”, to meet the needs taking into consideration the political developments associated with the peace process and the consequent activation of crossing points, Therefore, the company’s fleet were updated with the most modern tourist buses of different sizes, and were equipped with all means of comfort.
