Summary about the late "Mohammed AbdulHai" Amin Shaheen

 1932-2004

Mr. Mohammad Shaheen was born in Hebron, in 1932,  he began his work at the sector of trade and business at the age of 18 years, through the trade of electrical appliances, he was the first to introduce the radio "transistorradio"  to Hebron,  then he moved to the sector of transportation through two Taxi cars paving the  way for purchasing the first tour bus of "Mercedes" type manufactured in  Germany in the year in 1960 , Which was the starting point for the establishment of the company  at Al-Zawia Gate at the center of the city of Hebron.

His dream to expand the horizons of his personal project was always pushing him towards advancement and continuation, indeed his hard work, determination and efforts have pay off, and hiscompany had a distortive print on the Palestine map steadily till it became one of the leading transportation companies in Palestine.

Despite that, the late Shaheen, did not ignore nor overlook his social, humanitarian and charitable role,  as he was one of the founders of  many charitable and community associations,  most importantly  Hebron Blind Charitable Association, Patients Friends Society in Hebron , Al-Amal Society for Deaf children which he have built andfunded and was a  was a chairperson for. Moreover, he also constructed Abdul Hai Shaheen School, and Abdul Shaheen Mosque in Hebron which is considered a distinctive Islamic masterpiece.

Mr. Shaheen has also contributed in funding and supporting many institutions not only in Hebron but also at different cities in Palestine, including clubs, charitable societies, mosques, and schools.

On the economic level, he was among the most prominent founders of  Palestinian businessmen forum, Al-Mizan investment and development company,  Regency Hotel in  Hebron, Al-Mizan Specialized Hospital in Hebron, Al-Rwad Company,  Mineral Oil factory,  Palestine Insurance Company, and Palestinian Islamic Bank, he  also contributed to many national projects including PalTel company,  and Golden Wheat Mills Company, moreover, he also took over the position of chairperson for Al-Mizan Specialized Hospital, and Regency Hotel.

Today, his son is following his father footsteps, as he took over the position of chairpersonfor his father’s company since 2004, in addition to occupying his father position at the administrative councils for the economic companies and charitable and humanitarianenterprises, through the election of public bodies of these companies.
